I have been working on some horror stories, trying to build the ultimate supernatural cosmic horror tale, in the same way as Lovecraft and William Hope Hodgson; in order to get it i am reading a lot theory and essays about the masters oh horror fiction (Poe, Maupassant, Dunsany, Maturin, Radcliffe, Shelley, Hoffmann and many others).
My first attempt to reach that sort of perfection can be now read here following this link: [link]
It is a tale written in a bout 4 hours, but planned during several days, during wich i took notes and modified the general plot as much as needed everytime a new event was to be included in the final work. I am sure it is not the great i would want, but it was the first attempt only, not the ultimate one.
In the close future, i will be adding other tales, for instance: The Hand in the Pit; The Ancient Footspets or the Red Trace; The Hunter of Mount Maturin; Ahxzleg; The Man of the Crowd (stolen title from Poe); The Sparrows; and any other i create next following days. They all are written in spanish, i have been too lazy to translate them myself into english, so sorry about any trouble i caused to you...

Next is a short poem by Clark Ashton Smith; wish you like it:
A Dead City
Twilight ascends the abandoned ramps of noon
Within an ancient land, whose after-time
Unfathomably shadows its ruined prime.
Like rising mist the night increases soon
Round shattered palaces, ere yet the moon
On mute, unsentried walls and turrets climb,
And touch with pallor of sepulchral rime
The desert where a city's bones are strewn.
She comes at last: unsepultured, they show
In all the hoary starkness of old stone.
From out a shadow like the lips of Death
Issues a wind, that through the ruins blown,
Cries like a prophet's ghost, with waiting breath,
The weirds of finished and forgotten woe.
